Ball JHS

Dear Parents/Guardians of Student-Athletes:

The Anaheim Union High School District would like to invite your student(s) to participate in our after school sports program.  The sports program has four seasons with a variety of activities (see attached).

The AUHSD After School Intramural Sports Program is rooted in a proud tradition of athletes who demonstrate good academics, sportsmanship, self-discipline, responsibility, character, commitment, fairness, and respect not only for themselves but for all who participate in the intramural sports program.

Here is how our program works. All students who are interested in a sport may come out and participate for six weeks from 2:30 until 4:00 pm.  After those six weeks, the coaches will select a 7th and 8th-grade “All-Star Team” to represent their school in a district-wide intramural competition. The “All-Star Team” will practice as a team for one week followed by a week of tournament play. In order for your student to be eligible in making the “All-Star Team”, they must maintain a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) all year, have excellent attendance at practices, maintain a positive attitude, exhibit responsible and respectful locker room behavior, display respect to all who are involved, demonstrate team cooperation, and finally display appropriate skill levels.

Team athletes may miss their 6th and/or 7th period classes to attend and participate in away games during the week of the intramural tournament.  If this happens, the student is responsible to make up any work and/or tests they may have missed while playing sports.

The Anaheim Union High School District believes that participation in organized competitive sports will reward your student(s) with character, and a work ethic that will be valuable to them on and off the field of play for the rest of their lives.

We welcome you and your student(s) to the new school year and we hope that your student will join our amazing intramural sports program. Please visit the AUHSD or school website for additional information regarding sports offered, tournament dates and locations. If you have any additional questions, please contact your school site Intramural Directors: Jerry Underwood or Colin Gawronski (714) 999-3663 or Underwood_J@AUHSD.US or Gawronski_C@AUHSD.US

Yours in health and fitness,
